On September 23, 2020, Netflix gave us an amazing movie that saved us from the boredom of the COVID-19 pandemic. Netflix gave us the first of the Enola Holmes movies. This movie, starring Millie Bobby Brown, was a hit and soon became one of the most-watched original Netflix releases with about 76 million households watching the movie over its first four weeks. In November 2023, Scott Stuber, then Netflix's head of film, announced that the third Enola Holmes movie was developing.

Enola Holmes was first fabricated by Nancy Springer in her novel "The Case of The Missing Marquess" the first book in the Enola Holmes series. So far there are ten books in the Enola Holmes series, the last one being released on August 29, 2023. The Enola Holmes books are a young adult fictional mystery series. The books are about Enola Holmes, a 14-year-old girl and sister of the renowned Sherlock Holmes. The stories demonstrate how Enola grew from a teenage girl to a detective. However, Enola's story is not over yet Nancy Springer announced on her website that on September 6th the new book "Enola Holmes and the Elegant Escape" will be released on Minotaur Books & Wednesday Books.

Springer is a successful author with 4 series, about 35 novels published, and 11 awards or nominations including Tiptree, Edgar, and the Carolyn W. Field Award. The Enola Holmes book series is definitely one of her biggest achievements however one of her other prominent works is "The Tales of Rowan Wood." This series is about a young girl who dresses up as a boy and goes to join Robin Hood's group of men. One of the main reasons she does this is because Robin Hood is her father.
The Movies
Many say that the book and the movie do not have much in common. That the plots are way less detailed and that many details are different. One of the biggest differences that fans have found between the book and the movıe is that Lord Tewksbury, one of the main characters in the movie, is not only 2 years younger than Enola thus Enola is not in a romantic relationship with him. Not to mention that in the book Enola's mother does not make a single appearance. Evıdently there are several differences between the novels and the movıes however the maın, over-archıng theme, and plot remain the same.
The fırst movie "Enola Holmes" was an adaptatıon of Nancy Sprıngers fırst novel "The Case of the Missing Marquess." Enola Holmes's second movie was adapted from Springer's second book "The Case of the Left-Handed Lady." Both movies were a hit and were among Netflix's most-watched titles, attracting new fans and established fans.

The story begins when Millie's older sister Paige Brown starts reading the Enola Holmes series. “[Enola] really just struck me as a really great character,” said Paige Brown. “Millie at the time was a bit younger [than Enola] but I was thinking ahead and thought, ‘This would be really great onscreen.’” Paige told Millie about her idea and introduced her to Enola and Millie was onboard with the idea. The two girls described their idea to their father who, through their family production company, PCMA Productions, and Legendary Pictures made the movie happen. This was Millie's first time producing and acting and she describes how excited she felt.

The book begins with Enola being on the run from Sherlock, her older brother since he still wants to send Enola to finish school. She gets very creative while hiding and hides in a vast amount of costumes and disguises. However, she's forced out of her hiding place when Sherlock's sidekick, Dr. Watson, goes missing. Enola is racing with time and trying to find Dr. Watson before it's too late.
Usually, the movies don't follow the exact plot of the book so we expect the movie to have differences. However, most believe that the main idea and plot of the movie will stay the same.
